Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, during a gathering of clerics in Tehran on Monday, spoke about what he referred to as the “suffering” of Muslims in places like Gaza, Myanmar, and India. He highlighted the need for Muslims worldwide to remain aware of the hardships faced by their fellow believers. In a series of posts on ‘X’, he emphasized that Muslims cannot call themselves true followers of Islam if they ignore the struggles of Muslims in places such as Myanmar, Gaza, and India.

India, however, firmly rejected these statements, with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) labeling them as “misinformed and unacceptable.” MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal urged nations to reflect on their own treatment of minorities before commenting on India’s internal matters.

Meanwhile, Israel’s ambassador, Azar, briefly addressed incidents in Lebanon involving the recent use of pager blasts throughout the country. Azar, speaking during the India Water Week event, also noted the growing collaboration between Israel and India, especially in the fields of water management and agriculture. Highlighting the importance of these ties, he pointed out that Israel, as a leader in water technology, has been instrumental in helping India address water scarcity and enhance agricultural productivity.

According to Azar, Israel offers a wide range of solutions that have significantly contributed to food security and sustainability in India. These include advanced irrigation techniques, water recycling systems for agriculture, and innovative water management frameworks. He also mentioned that Israel has established 32 Centers of Excellence across India focused on improving water management in agriculture and urban areas.
- Furthermore, he explained that Israeli investments in India are growing, with Israeli companies now producing water management solutions on Indian soil. These efforts are expected to increase in alignment with India’s broader infrastructure development objectives, which aim to improve access to water for both urban and rural populations.”
